Chests, fusing and the Blacksmith in My Party Is Grinding
How to get chests opening on their own, what the fusion rules actually are, and why boss chests stop dropping. Answers below came from players in public Steam threads on 2026-08-29; the percentages came from Steam’s achievement API on the same day.
What players told each other
How do I get chests to open automatically?
It is on the skill-book path in the growth tree — keep going up it.
“自动开宝箱技能书开始往上走”Simplified Chinese · 2026-08-27 · Steam thread
How does the Blacksmith level up?
Through fusing at the Blacksmith — the crafting itself is what levels it.
“铁匠铺合成就能升级”Simplified Chinese · 2026-08-27 · Steam thread
What are the fusion rules?
Nine of the same material fuse, and fusing grants experience. For weapons it is any nine of the same colour rather than nine identical items.
“材料相同9个合成也算经验的,武器是随便同色9个”Simplified Chinese · 2026-08-27 · Steam thread
Why have I stopped getting boss chests?
One player reports a 15-minute cooldown on boss chests, and advises raising chest capacity early so drops do not back up.
“首领箱子15分钟CD- -早点把箱子数量点上去不然太容易卡箱子了”Simplified Chinese · 2026-08-27 · Steam thread
Where players actually get to
The three chest tiers separate cleanly. Normal and stage-boss chests are near-universal; act-boss chests are where the population thins out.

| Opened 10 act-boss chests | ACH_BOX_ABOSS_10 | 49.4% |
| First Blacksmith craft | ACH_SMITH_FIRST | 72.3% |
| First craft | ACH_CRAFT_FIRST | 42.0% |
| First Mage Tower engraving | ACH_TOWER_AWAKEN | 39.6% |
| First successful enchant | ACH_TOWER_ENCHANT | 14.0% |
| Hidden achievement, id ACH_ENCHANT_DESTROY | ACH_ENCHANT_DESTROY | 8.7% |

Source: Steam GetGlobalAchievementPercentagesForApp · pulled 2026-08-29. Each figure is holders divided by owners, and both sides move — usually up on a game this new, occasionally down when buyers arrive faster than they unlock — so read them against the pull date rather than as a fixed property of the game.
The wording in the left-hand column is our reading of the achievement’s API id (ACH_TOWER_ENCHANT and so on). Steam publishes ids on this endpoint and display names on a different page, and never states which goes with which, so that reading is an inference from the developer’s own naming rather than a published fact. Where an id gives us nothing to read, the column says so instead of guessing.
Enchanting can destroy the item
The game ships an achievement whose id is ACH_ENCHANT_DESTROY, and 8.7% of players hold it. The word “destroy” is read off that id and nothing else: Steam publishes ids and display names on two different surfaces and never says which goes with which, so we cannot tell you what this achievement is called or what its description says. A second id, ACH_ENCHANT_RISKY, sits at 0.2%, with the same caveat. We have not reproduced an item loss ourselves and the developer has not documented one, so treat the id as a hint worth being careful about rather than as a mechanic anybody has confirmed. The odds, if there are any, are not published and we are not going to invent a number.
The two workshops
Blacksmith
Forge, fuse and craft. Store page; the fusion rules above are a player answer.
Mage Tower
Engrave, enchant, socket and extract. A first engraving sits at 39.6% of players, a first successful enchant at 14.0%.
Facility names and their verbs come from the Steam store description, pulled 2026-08-29.
Still unanswered
Drop rates are not published. One player has asked whether the rate falls while the mouse is idle and nobody has answered; another reported twelve stages with no chest at all. Neither is something we can turn into a number, so this page does not pretend to have a drop table.
